I started this educational robotics company with my father, whose professional connections helped me get started. Our first products were the line follower robot and the obstacle avoiding robot, which I developed for a previous competition. Both used the same laser-cut wooden car structure, but the line follower used infrared sensors while the other kit used ultrasonic sensors.
Reaching out to a local STEM camp at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, our product satisfied their demand for an affordable, simple, and educational robotics kit. The next year, I started developing kits like a person following robot, smart pet feeder, and intelligent solar tracker. By the end of the 2022, over 300 kits were sold to local STEM camps!
With increased demand and plans to leave for college elsewhere, I worked with my dad to hire two interns from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to help with new project designs. This summer and fall, they designed the 2D Plotter and the Gyro Robo Car, which will be used in a winter STEM course. My dad and I also negotiated with international manufacturers for cheaper parts for our kits.
Now located in Durham, NC, I plan to expand our products outside of Las Vegas and work with local Durham schools to learn with our educational kits!
