Beat the Buffet! ("we," "our," or "us") built this app to help you track your buffet visits. This policy explains what
data we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
Location
We request your location to show buffets near you on the Discover tab. Location is never stored on our servers — it is
used only to query nearby results in the current session.
Photos
When you scan a plate, your photo is sent to our server and forwarded to Google's Gemini AI for food analysis. Photos are
not stored after the analysis is complete.
Account Information
If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user ID and, optionally, your name. We store this in Firebase to sync
your session history across devices.
Usage Data
We store aggregated, anonymized buffet visit statistics (calories, cost, visit count) in Firebase Firestore. This powers
the Discover tab for all users.
Purchase Information
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
